Beckman Coulter
- MoFlo™ Astrios EQ Cell Sorter
- 7 laser / 7 pinhole configurable system; 355nm, 405nm, 488nm, 532nm, 561nm, 592nm, 642nm
- Single multi-fiber Beam Shaping Optic (BSO) for fiber coupled lasers
- Flat-Top beam profile on fiber coupled lasers increases beam stability and power, alignment ease
- 7 lasers aligned through two alignment stages for quick sorter set up
- IntelliSort™ II - The only sorter with a fully bead-less drop delay determination and monitoring
- Touch Screen Control Panel for instrument set up and sort monitoring (intuitive operation and cross-training)
- Auto Start Up enables lasers to automatically turn on and fluidics to pressurize
- Single button Auto QC for tracking and trending with enhanced troubleshooting guidance
- Summit Software version 6.0
- 6-way sorting with a variety of collection devices (temperature control for all sort outputs)
- Mixed Mode sorting: each sort stream is capable of having its own sort mode (Enrich, Purify, Single) programmed. Soft aborts and waste can be collected for reanalysis or resorting.
- Index sorting with intuitive mapping of events
- Reproducibly sort up to 1536-well plates (due to historically stable fluidics)
- Only sorter capable of >70,000 sort decisions/second validated performance
- Electronic capability to simultaneously detect 32 parameters
- 32 bit processing and 100 MHz sampling speeds
- Zero electronic dead time equates to no hard aborts
- >100,000 acquisition rate/second validated performance
- 5-decade dynamic range PMTs
- FSC and SSC off each wavelength greater than or equal to 405nm
- Height, Area, Width, Log, Log Area collected simultaneously for all parameters
- Describes regions mathematically at the full resolution of the parameter
- 1 billion events .fcs files with no parameter limit
- Fully tested to NSF-49 specifications custom Biosafety Level II cabinet option
- Quick Release nozzle design for easy access to nozzle tip
- Sort chamber free of hard edges designed for aerosol containment and cleanability
- R-Theta CyClone® arm with wiper (seals back of sort chamber)
- Aerosol Evacuation System (AES) pulling particulates from three (3) chambers with verified performance to meet the ISAC guidelines
Beyond the optic expansion, novel software components enhance the instruments capabilities. The Touch Screen Control Panel facilitates daily set up with its operation designed around core laboratory workflow. Auto Start Up enables the user to pre-define when the lasers and fluidics will start up, saving valuable time each morning. Creating flat-top beam profiles, a multi-fiber Beam Shaping Optic (BSO) shortens alignment time and improves optic stability. Two stages control the alignment for all 7 lasers, simplifying the sorter preparation.
Auto QC allows system performance to be tracked and trended across 32 available parameters. IntelliSort II is a fully bead-less drop delay determination and monitoring system. Camera images and proprietary algorithms enable the optimal drop delay to be determined without the use of fluorescent particles in the sample line. An updated version of Summit Software containing 6-way sorting, plate sorting up to 1536-well, and Index sorting logic is standard. The Quick Release nozzle design enables removal or swapping of the nozzle body and tip through the use of single lever.
Designed from the start with biosafety considerations, MoFlo Astrios has comprehensive aerosol evacuation design that filters particles from all chambers where aerosols have the potential of being generated. A fully sealed sort chamber housing the redesigned R-Theta CyClone arm facilitates the aerosol evacuation capabilities which are tested to the current ISAC guidelines. Additionally, the MoFlo Astrios has a custom Biosafety Level II cabinet option. The BSL II cabinet is tested to NSF-49 International standards with the MoFlo Astrios inside.
