Economical gel documentation – DNA and protein gel imaging your way
Using a compact, InGenuis3 gel documentation system you’re in control. You can image your choice of dyes and stains by choosing UV, blue or white lighting options. The system’s GeneSys software selects the right lighting and filters for you, making it easy to image fluorescent ethidium bromide or SYBR® Safe DNA gels and protein gels stained with Coomassie Blue or silver.
For an economical system, the InGenius3 offers a 3m pixel camera and can produce images with 16 bit image depth. A manual zoom lens and manual filter drawer (includes a UV filter) completes the package.
The system is controlled by GeneSys application driven image capture software and comes complete with unlimited copies of GeneTools analysis software.

Transilluminator
InGenius3 uses a slimline transilluminator. Transilluminators are available in voltages for 230V 50Hz, 230V 60Hz (-E60), 115V 60Hz (-A), 115V 60Hz (-ACA) and 100V 50/60Hz (-J). Available wavelengths are short wave (254nm, 2020S), medium wave (302nm, 2020M), long wave (365nm, 2020L).
Blue light transilluminator
Used when alternative dyes to EtBr are required. A blue light transilluminator is a “safe” light source in that the user is not exposed to harmful UV radiation and samples are free from photonicking. This transilluminator replaces the UV transilluminator in all products.
UV-blue light convert screen
This comes in size 21 x 26 cm and is used to change harmful UV into blue light. It is made of scratch resistant plastic and is easy to retrofit onto a UV transilluminator
Visible light converter screen
This come in size 23.5cm x 30cm and is used to change UV light into visible light, ideal for imaging Coomassie Blue and Silver Stained gels.
Filter
A 58mm short pass filter is available.
Printer
Any printer with appropriate Windows drivers can be used with the InGenius3. We recommend a thermal A6 printer such as a Mitsubishi. These USB printers will “plug and play” with the InGenius3 computer and require minimal set up. They will print hard copies of images in under 5 seconds on long life glossy thermal paper to give photographic quality images.
Thermal paper
Available as Matt or Glossy.
UV tubes
Short wave 8W, 254nm, Medium wave 8W, 302nm, Long wave 8W 365nm available.
